Being safe this summer will help our students, family and community members reach their goals for health and personal enrichment. Review the following resources for more information:

  • City of Minneapolis Crime Prevention - learn about city services for home, automobile, bike and personal safety. You will also find resources and materials for reporting and preventing crimes.
  • Online safety - MPS IT Services Department offers tips for online safety including cyber bullying prevention, online ethics, building healthy online relationships, as well as establishing family contracts for internet use at home.
  • Jacob Wetterling Resource Center offers tips and resources for talking to your children on general personal safety.
  • Personal safety for students offers helpful tips for students to remember key safety tips during summer months.
  • Talk about safety - this guide gives parents ideas on how to start the conversation about safety. Recommended for grades 6-12.
  • Create a family safety plan - know where to meet, who to call and what to discuss with your family.
  • Water safety - view tips from Minneapolis Swims on water safety in swimming pools, lakes and rivers.
