Minneapolis Public Schools sought eight dedicated community members for a strong, committed advisory committee to inform and guide consulting firm Institute for Student Achievement (ISA) as it works to redesign the academic program at North High School for fall 2012.
The creation of an advisory committee was an important step in the redesign process for North High School. The advisory committee is comprised of fourteen total members, including the following MPS leaders:
MPS and ISA selected an additional nine members for the advisory committee of the North High School community in April 2011 with the goal of establishing a high-functioning team representative of the rich diversity in the surrounding neighborhoods dedicated to the future of North High School. The interview team that selected the redesign consultant selected four members through an application process. The remaining slots on the Advisory Committee were filled at a public meeting on April 14 at North Commons. Community member selection was based on the following criteria:
