Minneapolis Public Schools cancels all after-school activities on Feb. 2

MINNEAPOLIS – Minneapolis Public Schools has canceled all student after-school and evening activities and athletic events scheduled to occur on Tuesday, Feb. 2, due to expected inclement weather and road conditions.

Minneapolis Kids after-school child care will remain open until all students are picked up. All adult education and evening Community Education classes are canceled. The community meeting on the budget process and the Board of Education Finance Committee meeting at the Davis Service Center are also canceled.

The primary criteria we consider when making weather-related decisions include:
  • The safety and well-being of students and staff
  • Severity of the weather (extreme cold, flooding, etc.)
  • The ability for buses and cars to travel safely
  • Timing of weather
