Minneapolis Board of Education to welcome new Directors, bid adieu to outgoing Directors 
MINNEAPOLIS – At its first meeting of the year, the Minneapolis Board of Education will thank outgoing Directors Carla Bates, Tracine Asberry and Josh Reimnitz for their service and commitment to students. The Board will also welcome three new Directors who began four-year terms in January: KerryJo Felder, Ira Jourdain and Bob Walser; Director Kim Ellison moved from District 2 to an At-Large seat. 
Hennepin County District Court Judge Pamela Alexander will swear in the new Directors. Judge Alexander was the first African-American woman appointed to be a judge in Minnesota, and she is known for her enduring commitment to community service. 
Students from Folwell Performing Arts Magnet school’s Mariachi Orchestra will welcome attendees with a performance beginning at 5:15 p.m., as well as during the meeting recess.
