Last Day for MPS Students to be June 7

The Minneapolis Public Schools (MPS) Board of Education voted on August 9 to make this school year’s last day for students Friday, June 7, 2019. MPS currently exceeds the state-mandated school year length of 165 days. With this two-day reduction, the district will still be well within the required schoolyear length.

This change only impacts student attendance and does not impact staff duty days. The vote came at the recommendation of Superintendent Ed Graff after a similar change was made last year.
