Key area two: Equity
We need to acknowledge the deep impact of race and racial inequities throughout the system. Ending racial disparities should be at the center of our work. As a system and as individuals, we need to understand and work to address our racial biases and the impact they have on our students. 
Here are the tangible steps we are taking to be a more equitable district:
  • Providing equitable access to resources for all students.
  • Training district leadership in equity practices and the use of the Equity & Diversity Impact Assessment, and requiring leadership to share practices through their departments.
  • Allocating resources through a priority-based budgeting process to ensure that allocation is aligned with priorities identified in Acceleration 2020.
