KBEM’s Bluegrass Saturday Morning
Celebrates 25 years on the air
MINNEAPOLIS – KBEM radio’s long-running Bluegrass Saturday Morning show will mark its Silver Jubilee with a celebration at The Times and Jitters, two spots under one roof, at 209 East Hennepin Avenue, Sunday, Feb. 15, 2-4 p.m.
Known as a key media reference point when it comes to bluegrass music, the show has defied convention of a station devoted primarily to jazz with a large and loyal following each Saturday morning throughout the past 25 years.
Bluegrass players are invited to bring their instruments for jamming. Participants will include: Monroe Crossing, the Becky Schlegel Band, Bob Bovee and Gail Heil and the Chris Silver Band. We’ll also listen to the Roe Family Singers, Cousin Dad, and the group of Bluegrass Saturday Morning host Phil Nusbaum, The Bluegrass Pals. Performances will be capped by a high energy Appalachian clogging performance by the Wild Goose Chase Cloggers.
