Dr. David Walsh to speak at Anishinabe Academy and Sullivan Community School

MINNEAPOLIS Anishinabe Academy and Sullivan Community School on January 14 will host Dr. David Walsh, founder and president of the National Institute on Media and the Family, at an open house. Walsh will speak on the topic, The Importance of Community in Raising Healthy Children.

Committed to the belief that we must work to maximize the benefits and minimize the harm of media's impact on children, David Walsh, Ph.D., founded the National Institute on Media and the Family in 1996. As president, Dr. Walsh spearheads the Institute's efforts to provide information about media to parents, teachers and other concerned adults through education, research and advocacy.

The open house will begin at 6:00 p.m. with a pasta dinner. Attendees will tour the school building, learn about academic and enrichment programs and meet staff from Anishinabe Academy and Sullivan Community School, including principals Steve Couture and Ron Wagner.
