MPS schools in session on Monday, buses may run late
Students should dress for cold temperatures
MINNEAPOLIS – Minneapolis Public Schools (MPS) will be in session and observe a normal schedule on Monday, December 10. Some buses may run late due to road conditions. Students who ride MPS buses or use Go-To Student Passes through Metro Transit should arrive at their bus stops at the regularly scheduled picked-up times.
Cold temperatures are forecasted tomorrow morning. MPS recommends that students who walk to school should take extra precautions to cover their skin. Students should dress warmly in layers, wear coats, hats, and gloves if walking to/from school or waiting outside at a bus stop.
If a bus stop is covered with snow, ice or a snow bank, we advise that students not stand in the street or on top of the snow bank. These locations can be slippery and pose a hazard. Students should wait on the sidewalk by a cleared driveway or corner and wave to the driver to stop.
MPS families can stay informed about weather conditions affecting school and buses through the MPS website, Facebook page and Twitter.
