Superintendent William D. Green, J.D., Ph.D.


 

Dr. Bill Green is the superintendent of Minneapolis Public Schools. He is directly responsible for overseeing the district’s business functions and academic achievement for all students.

 

Superintendent Green is an associate professor of history at Augsburg College in Minneapolis. He also serves as an adjunct professor at St. John’s University in Collegeville, Minn.

 

Dr. Green served on the Minneapolis Board of Education from 1993-2001 and was board chair from 1996-1998.

 

Superintendent Green holds a bachelor’s degree in history from Gustavus Adolphus College. He also holds a master’s degree in educational psychology, a doctorate in education, and a juris doctorate from the University of Minnesota, Twin Cities.

 

A native of New Orleans, La., Dr. Green has contributed more than 30 articles to scholarly and popular press publications.
