2015 Teacher Contract Negotiations Schedule
The Minneapolis Federation of Teachers (MFT) and Minneapolis Public Schools (MPS) settled the 2015 teacher contract on Dec. 18, 2015. After seven months of negotiations, MPS and MFT reached a deal that is good for students and teachers while keeping the district on the path toward a sustainable future. The Board of Education and the MFT Executive Board will receive a detailed explanation of the contract in Executive Session in January.
When approved by the Board and the MFT membership, the new contract will provide additional time for teachers to prepare and collaborate in order to ensure the best learning experience for their students in the classroom. Incorporated in the contract are proposals for the development of both short-term and long-term strategies to enhance the success of positive school-wide engagement, keeping both students and staff safe.MPS and MFT negotiation priorities are listed at right, along with meeting notes, which are finalized at the next negotiation meeting.
